The Program
(For children not attending Our Parish School)
To assist you in preparing your child to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation we offer the following program:
General Information session
Tuesday 17th February 2026 at 4.30pm-5.30pm at St Gregory the Great Parish Church.
This session is for all children preparing for any of the Sacraments and their parents. This will also include specific information and the first part of preparation for Reconciliation.
Commitment Mass
All children preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation will make their commitment as candidates at Mass on Sunday 8 June 2026 at 5pm at St Gregory’s Parish Church.
Preparation Classes (For children not attending Our Parish School)
All children will attend six catechist classes with at least one parent. Children should bring the Family Activity booklet and a pencil case to each session.
Tuesdays : 4.30pm- 5.30pm at St Gregory the Great School- Parish Room
Dates: Tuesday, 21 April, 28 April, 5 May, and 12 May 2026
Tuesday, 14 May 2026 – Retreat and Reflection Day with Bishop Thinh Nguyen 10am-3pm at Holy Cross Monastery (with the children from St Gregory’s school)
Tuesday 14 May 2026 – Commitment Mass and Workshop – 6.30-8pm at St Gregory’s Parish Church
Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation
Celebration of Confirmation Sunday, 24 May 2026 at 3pm at St Gregory the Great Parish Church
Dress: There is no set dress. Please dress children in a way that denotes this as a special Sacramental celebration.
2026 Final Reg Doc – ConfirmationPhotography / Videos:
To respect the sacred nature of both the Liturgy and the Sacrament the use of mobile phones, cameras and videos during the celebration is not permitted.
Age of Candidate
Normally Grade 6 and above. All candidates must be baptised and have evidence of their Baptism.
Catechetical Fees:
$120 per child per Sacramental program. This fee assists in covering costs of running the program, materials provided, certificates, administration etc. Please include fee with the registration form and Baptismal Certificate.
