Our Ministries

Parish Pastoral Council

Your Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) is a group of committed parishioners working closely with our priests to help guide and shape the life of our parish. We listen, plan, encourage, and pray for ways our community can grow in faith, outreach and sustainability. We meet regularly to discern and review how we are tracking with our pastoral vision—and we’re always open to ideas and feedback from you.

Music Ministry

10.30am Choir & accompanist, other Masses use pre-recorded music embedded in a PowerPoint of hymns and Mass parts. Parishioners are lead in their praise of God through music in each Mass.

Ministers of the Word

Our Minister’s of the Word proclaim the first & second readings during the Liturgy of the Word. Formation is available on request.

Ministers of the Eucharist

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest in distributing Communion to the Parish community during Mass. Formation is provided on request.

Altar Servers

Children who have received their First Eucharist are warmly invited to serve as altar servers in the church or through St Gregory the Great Primary School. Altar servers receive training and ongoing mentorship to confidently assist during Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Active servers can join the Guild of St Stephen, a global organisation for altar servers, by continuing their service through to secondary school, deepening their commitment and connection to this important ministry.

Cornerstone Youth Group

Cornerstone Youth Group is a vibrant and welcoming community for young people from Grade 6 to Year 10, designed to support them in their faith journey through friendship, fun, and shared experiences. The group meets regularly every third Friday of the Month to explore faith-based topics, build a sense of belonging, and support one another through the challenges of growing up. With 2–3 exciting excursions each year, Cornerstone also offers opportunities for fun and bonding outside of church, making it a safe and enjoyable space where youth can grow in both faith and friendship.

Morning Tea Ministry

Provide a service enabling parishioners to enjoy each other’s company after 10.30am Mass each week. This ministry could be extended to other Masses if desired by the community.

Social Committee

The Social Committee plays a joyful and essential role in building a strong, connected parish community by planning and hosting events that bring people together in fellowship and celebration. From festive gatherings like our annual Lunar New Year Celebrations, Pizza & Wine Night, and Multicultural Day, to larger occasions such as Easter and Christmas celebrations, fundraisers, and parish milestones, the committee helps create memorable experiences for all ages. If you enjoy planning events, working with others, and helping to create a warm and welcoming environment, this ministry offers a fun and fulfilling way to share your time and talents with the church family.

Undertake the valuable ministry of counting the funds that are collected on a weekly basis. Counters work in pairs and are rostered on every couple of months.

Care of the Church

The Care of the Church Ministry is a vital service that ensures our church space remains clean, welcoming, and reverent for all who enter. This ministry supports the spiritual life of our parish by preparing the church environment for worship and maintaining its beauty throughout the week.

This ministry is ideal for individuals or families who enjoy working behind the scenes and take pride in creating a clean, prayerful, and inviting environment for the parish community. Volunteers typically serve on a rotating schedule and may work alone or in a team of two. Training and guidance are provided.

“God’s house is our house—let’s keep it beautiful together.”

Church Flowers

The Church Flowers Ministry enhances the beauty of the worship space by arranging fresh flowers for the altar each week. Volunteers either create new arrangements or refresh existing ones to reflect the liturgical season. This ministry is ideal for those with a love for flowers and a desire to serve through creativity and care.
